Pro Kabaddi League 2021-22

An Asian sport widely acknowledged in the Indian subcontinent., Kabaddi is a contact team sport comprising two teams with seven players. To empower the essence of Kabaddi, the Pro Kabaddi League 2021-22 (acknowledged by the sponsorship: Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2021-22 League) has been introduced as the ultimate Indian gaming league.

The sports event was conceived in the year 2014 and is now set to launch its 8th edition on 22 December, 2021. The league had been inspired by the 2006 Asian Games, and the outrageous popularity of the Indian T20 League had much to contribute to its launch.

PKL 2021-22 will continue to follow the round robin and playoffs format. However, pertaining to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the Pro Kabaddi League 2021-22 will be hosted by only one stadium. The Sheraton Grand Whitefield in Karnataka, will be initiating the series of matches for PKL 2021-22.

As per the PKL 2021-22 schedule, matches will be held in sets of 3 for each day amongst 6 different teams. The timings will vary for each match.

• The first match will commence from 19:30 IST with a timeout/ break of 1 hour.
• The following two PKL 2021-22 matches will start from 20:30 and 21:30 respectively.

The rules of the game are conventionally simple and easier to understand. Each match will be played between two teams with 7 players (remaining on standby). The sole aim of the game is to touch out every possible player of the opposition team and return to their allocated circle. This single offence player, also known as the Raider will step into the opposition area and strike out as many Defenders as possible. However, there is a catch, the Raider, when playing on the defender’s half court, needs to save himself from getting caught by the defenders.

Once the raider successfully touches the Defender, he needs to quickly jump over his half court area to avoid getting eliminated. If caught, he will have to touch the partition line. All this must be carried forward in a single breath by the Raider. He also needs to repeat the name of the sport until he returns to his allotted half court. If he fails to do so, he will be disqualified.
