West Indies cricket team holds a very important place in the hearts of almost every cricket fan.

History Of West Indies National Cricket Team
In the year 1975, the WI cricket team participated in the inaugural World Cup. They became the first team to win back-to-back World Cups in 1975 and 1979. Also, they are among the few teams to win the Champions Trophy, World T20, and the World Cup.
Throughout their history, the cricket players of the West Indies have acquired an important place in the international area.

Cricket West Indies
CWI or Cricket West Indies regulates cricket in the West Indies. Previously, it was known as the WICB or West Indies Cricket Board. The board was formed in the early 1930s and their name was changed to the West Indies Cricket Board in the year 1996.
In November 2015, the Board renamed itself as Cricket West Indies. Over the last few years, they have undergone a very tough time with various players selecting stints in the domestic T20 leagues.

- The list of the West Indies cricket players includes some of the great players such as Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Brian Lara, Viv Richards, Malcolm Marshall, and Sir Garry Sobers.
- Brian Lara is the holder of national records for most of the runs in ODIs and Tests. He is the only West Indies player to have over 10,000 runs in the format. He is also considered to be the 7th best batsman in the history of the game.
- Shivnarine Chanderpaul holds the national record for most of the test caps, whereas, Brian Lara holds the ODI record. In terms of most of the wins as captain. Clive Lloyd has the test records whereas Sir Viv Richards is the holder of the ODI record.
- Courtney Walsh possesses a monopoly of the bowling records as he is the leading wicket-taker for West Indies in ODIs and Tests. Along with Malcolm Marshall and Curtly Ambrose, he holds the records for most 5 wicket hauls.
- On the 19th of October, 2006, Jerome Taylor made an ODI hat trick performance at Mumbai. This match (ICC Champions Trophy) was played against Australia.
- Kemar Roach is known to be the 6th bowler to achieve a World Cup hat trick at the ICC 2011 Cricket World Cup against the Netherlands.
