IPL 2021
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, is in the 14th season and is a professional Twenty20 cricket (T20) league which had come up by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The BCCI suspended the IPL 2020 tournament indefinitely due to global pandemic crisis and then on 2 August 2020, it was officially announced that the tournament would be played between 19 September and 10 November 2020 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Government of India gave permission for the tournament to take place in the UAE on 10 August 2020. On 6 September 2020, the entire fixtures for the tournament were confirmed. VIVO Brand pulled out as the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 year's edition on 4 August 2020. And on 18 August, Fantasy cricket league platform Dream11 was named title sponsor with a bid of ₹222 crores (US$31 million) for IPL 2020. One of the Indian online education technology company Unacademy was named the official partner of IPL until 2022 on 29 August. The BCCI announced the fixture details on 18 February 2020. On 29 March 2020, the tournament league stage was scheduled to start, with the opening match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. But on 13 March, the BCCI suspended the tournament until 15 April, because of the ongoing global pandemic. Later on, IPL Governing Council chairman Mr Brijesh Patel said that the match would be played in the UAE between 19 September and 10 November and should get the incline from the Government of India on 24 July 2020.

IPL 2021 Updates
Some of the rules and regulations were changed due to pandemic for the IPL 2020 edition, which is hence mentioned below:
- All the matches will be played with all the safety measures and without any audience.
- Players aren't allowed to use saliva to shine the ball.
- Captains will not make any physical touch like shake hands after the toss.
- Teams will be allowed to replace the place if a player is tested positive for COVID-19.
- Front foot no-balls will be decided by the third umpire rather than the on-field umpire.
- And for the first time in IPL history, mid-season transfer was introduced to everyone. In mid-season transfer, teams can transfer players within the teams like the European football leagues. And to begin the mid-season transfer, all teams must have at least played seven matches. Then for a player to get transferred or use this feature, the player must have played a maximum of two matches. The player can be capped or uncapped according to their choice, and both Indian and International players can get transferred.
- In November 2019, the captain of Kings XI Punjab, Ravichandran Ashwin was transferred to Delhi Capitals. Ajinkya Rahane, Trent Boult and Mayank Markande made their salary raised during pre-auction trades. On 15 November 2019, the released players were announced. Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh and Chris Lynn were the most important names among all the players. Jaydev Unadkat, the costliest Indian player in the 2019 auction, was also untied.

The Indian Premier League(IPL) started in the year 2008, and a year earlier the Indian cricket team won the 1st edition of the World T20 against Pakistan in a thrilling final. What began as an aspiring project 11 years ago, is now known as the best Twenty 20 league in the world. Mumbai Indians(MI) is the most successful IPL team by winning the tournament five times and having finished runners up on one occasion. Chennai Super Kings(CSK) is the other team to have lifted the IPL title on three occasions while they have finished 2nd once.
Most Successful Team in IPL History:
Mumbai Indians(MI) are the most decorated and successful team in IPL's history in terms of the winning IPL titles five times. And after MI, the Chennai Super Kings(CSK) have won titles 3times; then there is the Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) have won titles two times, and the other left three teams who have won the tournament are the Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
Most runs Scored in an Innings:
Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) has secured the highest number of runs in a match with a breath-taking score of 263 runs over five wickets against Pune Warriors India(PWI) in IPL 2013. In the same match, Chris Gayle hit his record score for a match in IPL, and he achieved the highest number of sixes in an innings and is also the 2nd highest innings total played by any team in a T20 match. The 2nd record is also set by Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) against Gujarat Lions(GL), having scored 248 runs over five wickets. Chennai Super Kings(CSK) set the record of 246-5 and 240-5 while Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) scored 245–6 in a match against Kings XI Punjab(KXIP) in IPL 2018.

- Chennai Super Kings – The Chennai Super King is a team which creates thunder with a roar of the fan in the Chepauk Stadium. This team is led by M.S. Dhoni and is coached by Stephen Fleming. This is one of the most successful teams of the Indian Premier League. CSK had achieved three IPL championship titles, two Champions League T20 titles and five-time runners-up. - Delhi Capital – It is also known as Delhi Daredevils represents the nation's capital and is a part of IPL since it was started. This team initially started with a bang as they reached semi-finals consecutively in 2008-2009. But from the last few years, their performances were very disappointing. They have to make up for the past performance, hope that in 2020 Delhi Capitals squad gives outstanding gameplay. The best few players' names are – Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Kagiso Rabada and R Ashwin.
- Mumbai Indians – The is the most decorated and glowing team of the Indian Premier League due to their immense fan following and a fantastic line-up of players. Their previous team line-ups include some of the biggest players like – Sachin Tendulkar, Shaun Pollock and Sanath Jayasuriya. In the starting years of IPL, these teams were slow on the field but from last few years they have risen and become one of the title contenders. - Kings XI Punjab/Punjab Kings – The roaring lions on the team crest are a sign of their undying spirit and warrior ways as they represent the mighty state of Punjab. King XI Punjab journey in IPL has been a roller coaster, as sometimes they make it to semi-finals and sometimes are at the bottom of the Table in the year. In the 2020 squad some of the outstanding players are – K. L. Rahul, Chris, Glen Maxwell and Mohammed Shami.
- Kolkata Knight Riders – This IPL team is owned by Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta. They represent the charming city of Kolkata and have built their fans all around the world. KKR in their initials had a dull start but eventually managed to pull-up themselves to win the championship in 2012 and 2014. In KKR some best IPL 2020 players list – Dinesh Karthik, Shubman Gill, Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell.
- Rajasthan Royals – In the IPL initial stage, Rajasthan Royals won the championship in 2008. But after that, it has become difficult for RR to match the level of the other teams in the league. They achieved 3rd place in 2013, and that was the best they could achieve in the last few years. In 2020 we saw a healthy mix of batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders in the squad. Some of the best players of Rajasthan Royals are – Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler.
- Royal Challengers Bangalore – One of the most constant and average result teams in the whole IPL seasons is Royals Challengers Bangalore. They are owned by United Spirits. This team includes some of the finest Indian Cricketers like – AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell. This team is led by the Indian cricket team captain, i.e., Virat Kohli.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad – This team made its debut in Indian Premier League in 2013, and is the most recent team in terms of tenure in the IPL. This team replaced the name by Deccan Chargers and after showing their outstanding performance became one of the title-worthy underdogs of the IPL. Some of the unique players of this team are – Jonny Bairstow, Manish Pandey, David Warner, Kane Williamson.
