Shubman Gill : Younger Shubhi
Shubman Gill is one of the finest and brightest shining stars in the cricketing horizon. He was born on 8 September 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler. Shubman Gill's family has their own agricultural lands in Fazilka, where his father Lakhwinder Singh worked as agriculturist but always wanted to become a cricketer. Due to some family issues, he could not fulfil his dream. Later, he decided to make Shubman Gill an excellent player. In the farming field, he used to throw balls at Shubman to help him practice batting. His father has been supportive, and for Shubman’s cricket career, he decided to move the family to Mohali and rented a house near PCA Stadium.
Shubman has been passionate and hardworking about cricket since his childhood. His father said, "He only played cricket since he was three-years-old. Kids of that age would play with toys. He never asked for such things. It was only bat and ball for him. He used to sleep with a bat and ball." Currently, Shubman Gill’s age is 21 years.

Shubman Gill’s IPL Career
Shubman Gill cricketer came into this IPL career in the year 2018. Following his outstanding and a mind-blowing stint in the World Cup and domestic tournament, Shubman came in the cricketing fraternity eye and was taken at Rs 1.8 crore by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2018 Indian Premier League auction. In 2019, he represented KKR and batted in the top order and on expected lines, which managed to create a great impact in 2019 IPL matches, he scored 296 runs at an average of 32.88. Till now, Shubman Gill has played a total of 34 IPL matches and scored 753 runs with an average of 33.26. He has made four half-centuries with the highest score being 76. The fit and young man is still finding his place in the field and the 2021 IPL season could be the breakthrough season for him.
Shubman Gill’s Domestic Career
Shubman Gill made his List A debut for Punjab in the 2016–2017 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 25 February 2017. And then later, he made his first-class debut for Punjab in 2017–2018 Ranji Trophy on 17 November 2017. After a few days of that same month, in his second first-class match, he secured his maiden century, batting for Punjab against Services. After a few months in January 2018, Shubman was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for ₹1.8 crores (i.e., USD $250,000) in the 2018 IPL auction. He also made his Twenty20 debut for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 on 14 April 2018. Later in October 2018, he was named in India C's team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. In the final round of the robin match, against India, he secured an unbeaten century to help send India C through to the final. The same month, Shubman was named as one of eight players to watch for ahead of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. Then in December 2018, during one of Punjab's matches against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy, Shubman secured his maiden double century in first-class cricket, scoring 268 runs. On 25 December 2018, on the 4th day of the match against Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy, with Punjab in need of 338 runs from 57 overs, Shubman secured 148 runs off 154 balls almost single-handedly took his side to victory. The match concluded as a draw, with Punjab ending the run chase at 324/8 in 57 overs. On 1 January 2019, Shubman had secured 990 runs in first-class cricket, from 14 innings across eight matches. After one week, he scored his 1,000th run in a first-class cricket match, in his 15 innings. He was the ruling run-scorer for Punjab in the 2018–2019 Ranji Trophy, with his 728 runs in five matches. In March 2019, he was named as one of the 8 players to watch out by the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the 2019 Indian Premier League(IPL) tournament. He was also awarded the Trophy of Emerging Player of the Tournament in the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2019.
Shubman Gill’s International Career
Shubman Gill was a part of the Indian U-19 series win against England U-19 in Feb 2017. And later in December the same year, he was named the vice-captain of India's team for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Apparently, he was the leading run-scorer for team India in the tournament with 372 runs. Then he was also named the Player of the tournament. Going through his India's matches in the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Shubman Gill as the rising star of the team. Lately, in December 2019, Shubman was named as the captain of India A team for their tour of New Zealand. And in February 2020, he was again named in India's Test team and this time for their series against New Zealand. His 91 against Australian team in Australia at the Gabba played a major role in India’s historic victory down under.
