Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja commonly known as Ravindra Jadeja is a renowned International cricketer. He is an all-rounder who plays left-handed middle-order batsmen and slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He leads Saurashtra in first-class cricket and plays for the Chennai Super Kings In the Indian Premier League. He was part of the under-19 cricket team that won the world cup in Malaysia in 2008. Jadeja was born in Gujarati Rajput Family in Gujarat. In Ravindra Jadeja’s family, his father Anirudh Jadeja was a watchman for a private security agency. His father's dream was to watch his son become an army officer but Jadeja's interest was in cricket. His Mother Lata Jadeja died in an accident in 2005 and the trauma of his mother’s death almost made him quit cricket. Jadeja's sister Naina is a nurse, who lives in Jamnagar. On 17th April 2016, Jadeja married Reeva Solanki. After one year of marriage, they both had a baby girl Nidhyana in 2017.

Jadeja’s IPL Career

Ravindra Jadeja started his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals for the inaugural season in 2008 and played an important role in their victory by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final match. He scored 135 runs from 14 matches at a strike rate of 132.06 which was an amazing show of skill. In 2009, he did better by scoring 295 runs at a strike rate of 141.90.  The captain of the Rajasthan Royals team Shane Warne referred to him as a “superstar in the making”.  In the 2010 IPL, he sat out as he was banned due to contractual irregularities. But in 2011, he was taken by the Kochi Tuskers Kerala for $950,000. But due to some reasons, Kochi Tuskers were terminated from the IPL in September 2011. Then in the 2012 IPL auction, Sir Ravindra Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for $2 millions after a tie-breaker with Deccan Chargers who bid the same amount for him. In this year, Sir Jadeja was the most expensive player in the auction. He won the man of the match Trophy in the second match of the season against Deccan Chargers for his all round performance. In 2014 IPL, he was named in the Cricinfo CLT20 XI for his outstanding performance. Jadeja’s CSK showed a fine spin bowling performance in Chennai for an IPL 2015 Match on Mother’s Day where he took four wickets for 11 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja made his very first Under-19 debut for India at the age of 16 in 2005. He was taken in the Indian team for the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. India finished runners-up with Ravindra influencing in the final against Pakistan with a haul of three wickets. He was even the vice-captain of the triumphant Indian team at the 2008 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He played a vital role with the balling part in the tournament and took ten wickets in 6 matches at an average of 13. Later then, Ravindra made his tremendous first-class debut in the Duleep Trophy 2006–2007. He also played for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy and Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy. Later in 2012, Ravindra became the 8th player in history, and the very first Indian player to secure three first-class triple centuries in his career, combining Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Bill Ponsford, Wally Hammond, WG Grace, Graeme Hick and Mike Hussey. His very first outstanding performance was in early Nov 2011 against Orissa, in which he secured 314 runs off 375 balls. His 2nd came in Nov 2012 against Gujarat, in which he secured 303 runs not out. And the 3rd came against Railways in Dec 2012, in which he secured 331 runs in 501 balls. Ravindra Jadeja’s International Career

Ravindra Jadeja finally sought the attention of the national selectors with his strong all-round showing in the 2008–2009 Ranji Trophy by securing 42 wickets and 739 runs and was picked for one of the ODI series in Sri Lanka. On 8 February 2009, his very first international debut came in the final match of the series where he scored 60 runs; however, India lost the match. Then in the 2009 World Twenty20, Ravindra was criticized for not scoring good and fast enough in India's overlook to England team. After the then all-rounder Yusuf Pathan got through a loss of form, Ravindra Jadeja took his place at No. 7 in the ODI squad in late 2009. And in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka in Cuttack on 21 December 2009, he was acknowledged with the Man of the Match trophy following a haul of 4 wickets. His best bowling was 4–32 till that date. Ravindra came back bravely in the next Ranji season (2015–2016), where he picked up 38 wickets from 4 games and 215 runs, including three 50+ scores. His heart winning performances were greatly rewarded with selection for the Indian test side facing South Africa at home. Ravindra helped his team to achieve victory, by taking legit 23 wickets in 4 games. He secured 109 runs in the series, which included critical knocks lower down the order. He was then included in Indian limited-overs side touring Australia to play 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Ravindra bowled on a low budget in a series where more than 3000 runs were scored in 5 matches in ODIs. Then he took three wickets at an economy rate of 5.35.
