Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadhav is an Indian all-rounder who bowls right-arm off-break and occasionally dons the wicketkeeper’s gloves. This versatile player plays for Maharashtra domestically and represented CSK in the IPL till 2020 and now plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kedar Jadhav’s career started as an aggressive batsman who possessed a  solid technique.  However, he reinvented his game, expanding his scoring zones while also playing innovative and powerful strokes. His hard work paid off and he soon got a call-up for the national side.

Kedar Jadhav was born on 26th March 1985. He is from Pune, Maharashtra. His father is Mahadev Jadhav, a government employee and his mother Mandakini Jadhav is a homemaker. He has one sister named Smita More, who is married. Snehal Jadhav, a former cricket player, is Kedar Jadhav’s wife . She played 37 List-A, one first-class and 31 T20 matches for Maharashtra and Western Zone. Kedar Jadhav’s height is 5 feet 4 inches and he has a daughter.

Kedar Jadhav Profile

This hard hitter, who scores quickly, made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 16th November 2014 in the 5th match played at Ranchi, where he scored 20 runs from 24 balls. Then, he played the one day series against Zimbabwe in July 2015. Jadhav scored his first ODI century in the third match at Harare, ending on 105 not out off 87 balls. Kedar Jadhav’s jersey number is 81.

This Maharashtrian became an integral part of the team by performing consistently in the middle order, which he reiterated across various home and away matches. When India played a series against England team in January 2017, Jadhav scored 120 runs off 76 balls and shared a partnership of 200 runs with captain Virat Kohli as India went on to register a win.

He again played a brilliant knock of 90 runs; however, India ended up losing the match. But Kedar was declared the man of the series for his total of 232 runs, proving to be the knight in shining armour for the team. Kedar Jadhav’s IPL Career

Jadhav first started with the RCB development squad but was then signed on by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2010, where he proved his ability and scored 50 runs off 29 balls against his former team Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was then picked up by Kochi Tuskers Kerala at an auction price of 7.80 crores in 2011 and played six matches for them. Delhi Daredevils again picked him up in 2013 and ‘14. The 2013 IPL wasn’t great for him, and he couldn’t do much in 2014 either, scoring just 149 runs in 10 innings.

Ahead of IPL 2016, Delhi traded him with Bangalore IPL Team for an undisclosed price, but Jadhav ended up performing disappointingly. In 2018, he was picked by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 7.8 crore, but Jadhav could not continue after injuring his hamstring in the opening match. He was again retained by CSK in 2019 but after a poor IPL 2020 season, Kedar Jadhav’s CSK journey came to end as the management decided to release him. He was then picked by SRH in the IPL 2021 auction and is eager to take the field in the #OrangeArmy colours.

Domestic Career

Jadhav made his first triple century in 2012, scoring 327 runs. It is the second-highest score by a Maharashtrian batsman in the Ranji Trophy playing a match against Uttar Pradesh at Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Kedar Jadhav then scored 1223 runs in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season, which included six centuries. It was the fourth highest aggregate in the history of the Ranji tournament. This also helped the Maharashtra team make their way to the first Ranji Trophy final since 1992/93. The powerful batsman has also represented India A and West Zone Cricket team and was also named in India B’s squad during 2019-20 for Deodhar Trophy.

T20 Career

 Kedar Jadhav made his T20 debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 and has played nine T20Is in total, scoring 122 runs at an average of 20.33 at a strike rate of 120.23.
