Domestic Career

International Career
Kane Williamson was the captain of the New Zealand Under-19 side for the World Cup at the age of 17 when they reached the semi-finals. He made his ODI debut in 2010 against India, where he was dismissed for a duck. By scoring the maiden ODI century in October 2010 against Bangladesh , Williamson became the youngest centurion in the history of New Zealand Cricket. Williamson made his Test debut in November 2010 against India, where he became the eighth New Zealand player to score a century on their Test debut.
Williamson scored his second test century against West Indies in 2014 and was the leading run-scorer, helping New Zealand win the test series. He was then named as the captain of the New Zealand National team against Pakistan.
Kane Williamson scored his first T20 century (101* in 49 balls) in the 2014 Champions League Twenty against Cape Cobra and helped his team win the match. Williamson won the Man-of-the-Match award against Sri Lanka for two terrific catches and scoring 9 and 242 not out in the test match. He scored over 700 runs in the first two months of the calendar year before the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Williamson broke the record of the most Test runs scored in a calendar year by a New Zealander in December 2015 by scoring 1172 runs. Williamson ended 2015 with the third-highest total of 2692 runs in a year, which is the highest score in all formats of international cricket. For the 2014-2015 season, he was awarded the T20 Player of the Year by New Zealand Cricket Awards.

Captaincy Career and Records
After the retirement of Brendon McCullum in 2016, Kane Williamson became the New Zealand captain across all formats. He was picked as the Test player of the year and NZ player of the year for the second year in a row. During the 2016 Test series against Zimbabwe , Williamson became the youngest player and thirteenth batsman to score a century against all other Test-playing nations. For his outstanding performance in 2016, ICC named him in the World Test XI.
