Colin Munro is an international cricketer born on 11th March 1987 in Durban, Natal Province, South Africa. His parents used to call him ‘hitman’, or we can conclude he got the nickname due to his tremendous batting techniques. Born in New Zealand , he mostly plays limited-over formats of cricket. He used to be a member of the New Zealand Under 19 side, after which he joined the Auckland cricket team.

Domestic Career
Colin's first time experience in the domestic field was not so overwhelming. He played a vital role in Auckland's HRV Cup triumph and later on became a part of the team in 2012 Champions League T20 in India. When the notice arrived by the selectors, he made his T20I debut against South Africa in December 2012. Meanwhile, in the same series, an ODI debut followed him, and with his excellent skills, he scored his maiden ODI fifty in the 2nd match. Colin made his second fifty in a New Zealand vs Bangladesh ODI.
Munro has been a constant feature in the New Zealand T20 squad but has been inconsistent in the 50-over format. He was signed for the Sydney Sixers in the Australian T20 league and the Big Bash League (2017) and debuted in the majestic SCG against Sydney Thunder. Also, he was in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in the 2016 season of the IPL. In the same year, Colin joined Trinbago Knight Riders, and now he is currently a member of the team. He returned to IPL with the Delhi Daredevils for the 2018 season.
International Career
Colin Munro made his first international debut for the New Zealand Test cricket team on 11 January 2013 against South Africa at Port Elizabeth. This remains the only test match of his career to date. In a match against Sri Lanka in 2016, Colin scored the second-fastest T20I fifty of all time in just 14 balls, only behind the 12-ball fifty of Yuvraj Singh. Hitting one of the fastest fifties by New Zealand in this format, Colin beat the previous record set by Martin Guptill (50 off 19 balls).
Munro's last ODI form wasn't that great as the left-handed batsman had struggled to maintain the big scores in 2019. Colin's last worthwhile knock in the 50-over format was against Sri Lanka in January 2019. Since then, he has failed to fire. After Colin and Guptill being on the top, New Zealand had an epic opening pair. If only one of them also clicks, New Zealand gets the motivation at the beginning of the match. Guptill's record in the World Cup is far better than his overall ODI records. So, the audience will rely on him in order to make them excited for those quick and steady starts. If Munro can do the same, it will be a cherry-on-the-top for the Black Caps. New Zealand has given him enough opportunities, and now is the time for him to step up and make it big for himself and his team.
